ACTIVITIY CALENDAR FOR 2019
Amidst the chill WX of North India, 22 hams of the local club DARTS (Delhi Amateur Radio Technical Society) set out of the comforts of their home QTH for an eyeball at VU3BPA’s mqth PLC Institute of Electronics (PLCIE).
One minute silence was observed to pay respects to Indian soldiers martyred on 14th February 2019 in Pulwama (Jammu & Kashmir) and few old timers homebrew HAMS who became silent key during 2018.
VU3JTA Ashutosh, the winner of homebrew contest at Lamakaan Amateur Radio Club 2019, Hyderabad, was congratulated and applauded by all. OM Ashutosh happily displayed his prized possession, the BITX radio along with some homebrew Desktop Microphone (made out of used table lamp), crocodile clip etc. VU3JTA also distributed Republic Day 2019 Special VHF Net QSL Card.
VU2HW Rajani Mohan was introduced and welcomed by VU2EXX, Gen. Secretary of DARTS as new Executive Body member. VU2HW Rajani Mohan, also displayed homebrew SWR Meter, Amateur Radio Prefix maps, One Language One World car stickers.
VU3BPA Arun, the proprietor of PLCIE showcased the Trishul VHF UHF Dual Band antenna.
As the day warmed up and after lot of deliberations, the group chalked out yearlong amateur radio activity plan to boost radio interest among novice and old timers.
Tentative DARTS activities proposed are:
- Revival of VU2FUN Repeater VHF Repeater. Echolink is connected to this Repeater. VHF Net every Saturday at 21:00 hrs IST. Frequency 145.670 with -shift 600 Hz and CTCSS 100 Hz. Hence NO VHF NET on VU2DLR on Saturday.
- DARTS Field Day with Special Call Sign by VU2EXX during April 2019.
- SWR Meter Homebrew Workshop by VU2HW – Rajani Mohan during April 2019.
- Knowledge sharing on sunspots, solar cycle with respect to radio propogation by VU3DJQ Raman, VU3BSE Alokesh and VU2BLT will confirm from Samir Ahuja during May 2019.
- Satellite Chasing and Demonstration by VU2UKR Sunil, VU2UUU Kaustav.
- Antenna and Balun by VU2KD, Sofi and VU2YK Rahul during July 2019.
In order to propagate amateur radio hobby and DARTS club, we expect support from all and become member of DARTS club. All approved the proposal of VU2EXX for a smart card type membership card.
Also to mention that DARTS Founder members, that is, VU2HW, VU2EXX, VU2AKW, VU3SLJ, VU3BPA, VU2MUE are already supporting by giving lectures during ongoing Amateur Radio Training coordinated by VU2TCT Manoj, Incharge of Bal Bhawan Amateur Radio Club under Ministry of Human Resource and Development, New Delhi. VU2YK Rahul volunteered to be part of training programme.
